Dr. Douglas O'Neill DIRECTOR OF FORMATION IN SACRED MUSIC
I am delighted to begin teaching at Christ the King Classical School as the new Director of Formation in Sacred Music and Liturgy. I recently moved to Kansas City for this position, with my wife Sujin Yoon and son Evan. I earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Organ Performance from the University of Evansville, and a Master’s Degree in Organ from the University of Iowa, and completed the Doctor of Musical Arts in Church Music at the University of Kansas. Although we recently just moved to Kansas City, we have remained in contact with friends and colleagues in the area, and are happy to be back in Kansas. I have an abiding love for the great sacred arts, especially music, and look forward to sharing this love with the students at Christ the King School. I spent six years working at the Madeleine Choir School in Salt Lake City, the only full-time co-educational Catholic choir school in North America. From that experience, I know the impact that immersing children in the great music of the church can have on their lives. I will also be providing music for Masses at Christ the King and Blessed Sacrament Churches.
